SUMMARY: Processes screening report and client project requests, audits and corrects reports, responds to client and consumer inquiries/problems, performs administrative duties as required. This is an ENTRY LEVEL position on our operations team with the opportunity to move up to a specialist, investigator, trainer, or floater.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The essential job duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.) Creation of Background Screening reports by ordering and processing the following: courts and court results, employment verifications, educational verifications, professional credential verifications, drug tests, driving record checks, E-Verify requests, assessment tests and other services. Provide customer service as required.
Performs all duties of Background Processor as follows: Each Background Processor will be trained on Data Facts procedures for processing all available Background Screening services as described below. The department manager will assign core responsibilities to each processor. Being cross-trained on the other services, will allow specialists to help cover other areas during peak times or during absences.
Process criminal and civil courts. This may involve using database tools, or through specific court searches based on address(s) provided by the client or found by reviewing the SSN validation. Processing includes entering the results provided by dispatch service to approved vendors, or those found through our own research.
Validate any hits by following the applicable Reportability Guidelines to ensure state and FCRA compliance.
Process Employment Verifications, to confirm historical employment dates and positions. Some Employment Verifications may require the specialist to inquire about specific items, such as accident history or eligibility for rehire.
Process Professional License Verification to confirm that applicants are correctly licensed and in good standing.
Process Employment or Tenant Reference interviews
Process Education Verifications, to verify date degree received & type of degree.
Process Workers' Compensation checks with the appropriate state agency to find a history of previous claims.
Process and distribute E-Verify and CBSV reports.
Process and distribute Assessment Test results.
Process Adverse Action requests. When requested by client, we will fulfill the required notices and disclosures for Adverse Action. Includes Pre-Adverse for employment reports.
Process Drug Test requests. This will involve entering results from the laboratory, and may include scheduling an appointment for the donor.
Process reports and other duties as assigned by management.
Complete projects as assigned by management.
Contact clients/applicants to solicit additional information as required.
Review and audit background report results for accuracy, reportability, and to ensure correct pricing.
Support customers with inquiries regarding their background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Work requires High School diploma or equivalent, proficiency in office automation software, including Chrome or Firefox & Microsoft Office components such as Outlook, Excel & Word. Work requires thorough knowledge of report processing including development, quality control and customer service, as well as knowledge of general department operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light; may spend extended periods at terminal. Ability to work flexible hours as assigned is required.
