Situated in the vibrant location of the Southern Illinois Airport in Murphysboro, IL, St Nicholas MDH is actively seeking enthusiastic and skilled Line and Prep Cooks to enhance our kitchen team. Your Role Will Involve:
- Preparation Excellence: Handling daily prep tasks to ensure ingredients are ready and available for service, maintaining high standards of quality and freshness.
- Efficient Cooking: Operating various kitchen equipment to cook dishes according to our established recipes and standards, while working efficiently to meet service times.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Assisting in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen space, following health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Inventory Assistance: Helping with the receiving and storage of deliveries, managing stock rotation in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas to minimize waste.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with the rest of the kitchen team to facilitate smooth service operations, stepping in to assist others as needed.
- Learning and Development: Continuously learning new techniques and recipes to grow your skills and contribute to the menu's innovation.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has prior experience in a line or prep cook role, or a strong willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety/sanitation practices.
- Exhibits excellent organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Shows a commitment to quality in food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
- Is flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays, aligning with the restaurant's operational needs.
