Clinical Expertise

Good Intentions’ clinical expertise and approaches are just as arrayed as the cultural makeup of its clinical staff, making us beautifully reflective of the greater Seattle community and impressively effective. All our clinical staff are trained in trauma informed interventions with the expectation that each will become certified in this area. We are experienced in a multitude of concentrations such as: suicide prevention, parent coaching, individual/family/group therapy, teen issues, personality disorders, mood/anxiety disorders, PTSD/trauma, domestic violence, stress management, addiction/chemical dependency, LGBQT+, and developmental disabilities.

Specific clinical modalities include but are not limited to specialized habilitation, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), critical incident stress management (CISM), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and emotionally focused therapy (EFT). With such vast clinical experience and varied life exposure among our staff, it is no wonder that Good Intentions’ reputation of excellence continues to rapidly grow as we maintain our deep commitment to effectively treating each person that utilizes our multifaceted services.

Full Job Description

The Bachelors Level Clinician (Behavior Technician) is a diverse position that can vary in services provided and clientele interactions. Our Behavior Technicians enjoy that no two days are quite the same. The candidate should feel comfortable in working with various populations including children needing extra support in school, women and men re-entering society post incarceration, youth and adolescents affected by community and family trauma, and/or children, adolescents, and adults with limited verbal communication skills, behavioral challenges, and/or developmental challenges. Our organization serves clients in a variety of settings including family homes, clinics, governmental institutions, and academic environments. Due to the changing backdrop for our work, the role can be exciting, challenging, and fast-paced.

The Bachelors Level Clinician (Behavior Technician) will fulfill the following duties:

  • Become fully aware of the cultural awareness necessary to effectively provide services to black, indigenous, and people of color and the LGBQT+ population in general.
  • Implement behavioral support plans and treatment plans for mental health

management.

  • Measure goals and objectives of behavior support plans and treatment plans to ensure they are being met.
  • Analyze behavioral interventions and treatment goals to determine client success.
  • Assist clients in identifying inappropriate behaviors and developing better behavior alternatives.
  • Prepare clients to develop effective coping strategies and positive relational interactions.
  • Help caregivers facilitate behavioral interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Collaborate with other service providers in the best interest of clients.
  • Promote crisis management/intervention.

New hires work in a collaborative, team member supported environment that encourages supervision and communication. On-the-job training is provided on the principles and procedures of the Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) treatment model and Functional Assessment reporting under the supervision of a Lead Bachelors Level Clinician (Behavior Technician).

  • Monday through Saturday availability (overtime available)
  • Able to attend scheduled virtual team meetings

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb a flight of stairs, bend, squat and get up from the floor unassisted and with ease.
