Job Description:

Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Adult & Pediatric Clinic, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to adults, in an outpatient setting. Your role will involve assessing patient needs, administering treatments, educating patients and families, and collaborating with healthcare providers to promote wellness and manage acute and chronic health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment and Triage:

   • Perform thorough assessments of patients presenting to the clinic, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical history, and assessing chief complaints.
   • Triage patients based on acuity and urgency, prioritizing care for those with emergent or acute conditions and facilitating timely interventions.

2. Nursing Interventions and Procedures:

   • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate dosages, proper techniques, and adherence to infection control protocols.
   • Perform nursing procedures, such as wound care, injections, and specimen collection, following established guidelines and best practices.

3. Pediatric and Adult Care:

   • Provide age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric and adult patients, addressing their unique physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
   • Assess growth and development milestones in pediatric patients, providing anticipatory guidance and education to parents and caregivers.

4. Patient and Family Education:

   • Educate patients and families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies, using clear and understandable language tailored to the patient's age, literacy level, and cultural background.
   • Provide counseling on preventive healthcare, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits to promote wellness and prevent illness.

5. Care Coordination and Collaboration:

   • Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.
   • Coordinate referrals to specialty services, diagnostic testing, and community resources, ensuring continuity of care and comprehensive support for patients' healthcare needs.

6. Documentation and Communication:

   • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) system, maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
   • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state board of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a clinic or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record (EHR) systems used for documentation and patient care management.
