Role:
Our Global Controllership team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Vice President with a strong understanding of US GAAP, and emphasis on compensation / non-compensation accounting, software capitalization and financial statements analytics. The ideal candidate will focus on the Company's continuous improvement and modernization initiatives, to ensure best in class accounting processes. The role requires an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills eager to join a collaborative finance environment and partner with stakeholders and functional teams across the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Oversee and manage the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
* Manage the accounting process for the internal-use software capitalization ensuring the accurate tracking of internal and external costs and compliance with all related SOX controls
* Supervise the accounting for commission expenses, including the calculation, accrual, and reconciliation of commission-related transactions
* Manage and oversee hedging and derivatives activities, including the accounting treatment, review of fair values, and reporting of derivative instruments.
* Effectively collaborate with Moody's internal and external auditors to ensure successful compliance with all internal controls, SOX requirements and quarterly/annual review and testing of financial statement transactions.
* Interacts heavily with FP&A and business stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate explanations of movement in financial statement account balances.
* Heavy focus on operational efficiencies and automation of business processes
* Implement and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
* Coordinate and facilitate audits by external auditors, ensuring all audit requests related to commission expenses, hedging activities, software capitalization and monthly close processes are addressed in a timely manner.
* Participate in strategic finance projects and implementation of accounting tools and applications to streamline and automate accounting processes
* Provide strong oversight of certain offshore month-end close activities
* Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams across the organization

Qualifications:
* BA/BS accounting
* 8+ years of accounting experience
* CPA license is a must
* Knowledge of ASC 350-40 is a plus
* Experience with Blackline, Power BI and Alteryx is a plus

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$133,100 - [[$192,950, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
