Form of workProvide subject matter expertise in support of United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) on currently fielded and future Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS), as well as Special Operations Forces (SOF) unique modified and SOF unique ALSS in support of SOF. This position is performed on-site at Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF) in Savannah, Georgia. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Perform organizational level ALSS maintenance and inspections on assigned equipment.
Utilize all maintenance manuals, schematics, diagrams, drawings, technical directives,maintenance/servicing instructions, commercial service manuals, and operational written procedures. Perform inspections, maintain, and repair survival equipment, flight gear, and protective clothing. Uses, adjusts, maintains and sewing machines.
Perform related duties in hazardous areas such as oxygen safe rooms. Ensures all maintenance actions are performed in accordance with government safety standards. Maintain ALSS (survival equipment) rotatable pool of personal survival equipment, aircrew equipment files.
Familiar with the ALSE Central Database, and ULLS-A, shall be capable of updating, inventory control of issued and stocked items, issue and accept ALSE equipment (ensuring accountability). Assist during boating operations (I.E. performing safety boat driver operations, perform parachute/ladder/sling recovery boat driver operations) to include transport, setup loading and unloading of watercraft, operational checks of outboard motors.
Participate in and conduct system and sub-system testing in support of integration and material solution development. Logistics and sustainment analysis, ensuring support considerations are an integral part of the system's design requirements, and that the system can be cost effectively support throughout its life cycle, and the infrastructure elements necessary for the initial fielding and operational support of the system are identified, developed, and acquired. Analyzes systems that no longer meet operational needs, or can be substantially improved in capability.
Inspects all work performed by contractor personnel. Assist/train incoming personnel to include government and civilian/contractors in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and record keeping of ALSS equipment to ensure continuity and job experience retention. Contractor shall maintain currency requirements for all certifications at no cost to the government.
The government shall provide special Operations Aviation (SOA) peculiar training/certifications. Contractor shall pass annually an Aviation Water Survival Test. Perform routine clerical, administrative, and logistics tasks as required in support of the ALSE shop.
Possesses a Secret or Interim Secret security clearance.MINIMUM SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: If not already certified candidate must pass an initial Aviation Water Survival Test and is required to maintain/pass the Aviation Water Survival Test annually. Required to maintain current requirements for all certifications. Familiarity with the ALSE Central Database, and ULLS-A.
