Function
The position of AV Networking Engineer will involve designing, engineering, and executing computer network systems for integrated AV systems. This position will also support and assist with data networking systems related to lighting and rigging. This person reports to the Technical Services Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities are for the system administration of IT equipment and infrastructure used in audiovisual and lightning systems. Systems include network appliance and media device management, IP audio and video streaming and distribution configuration, SNMP monitoring and quality assurance for AV IT and lighting networks.
- Works closely with Clearwings AV installation and programming team to ensure that audiovisual systems function correctly. Provides technical support for audiovisual and lighting systems troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation. Analyzes and rectifies network faults relating to networked audiovisual and lighting equipment.
- Develop and document VLAN assignments, IP addressing schemes, and define services for audiovisual and lighting equipment as well as identify and document device/service dependencies.
- Installs, repairs, tests, and troubleshoots networked audiovisual and lighting equipment as needed to keep systems functional. Provides an adequate level of on-site troubleshooting, as required. Coordinates, and manages the repair of equipment with internal and external service technicians. Provide necessary preventative maintenance to reduce risk to assets.
- Monitor networked audiovisual equipment using both traditional and online tools and provide guidance for those working with the equipment daily. Recommends upgrades to infrastructure, including replacement of systems and equipment. Provide support to the Design/Engineering team as necessary, providing technical support and insight into specific products' capabilities and limitations. Assists in the development of companywide audiovisual and networking system standards.

- Ability to read and understand construction style documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities.
