Our customer, a Lapeer based manufacturer high-visibility automotive components, is looking for an experienced 2nd ShiftAutomotive Painter for their paint department. $16 to $18/hr. depending upon experience.

JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proven ability to spray paint 100% of all jobs.
- Must be able to recognize and maintain good color.
- Capable of meeting production rates with little or no scrap.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and minimal downtime.
- Ability to work with and train lower-level painters on paint application and mask washing.
- Accurate record keeping of process books and production sheets as well as vision boards.
- Ability to notice quality concerns and take corrective actions and participate in quality and productivity improvements.
- Ability to run and maintain solvent and solvent less mask washes.
- Must be able to clean and flush equipment.
- Recognize equipment that is not grounded.
- Keep within the limits of the attendance guidelines.
- Loads and moves materials to work area.
- Fills containers with prescribed quantities of paint and solvents.
- Installs/uses specified nozzles/guns.
- Replace screens and filters.
- Clean spray and drying chamber, conveyor, tanks, hoses and nozzles.
- Racks work pieces on conveyor, inspects, marks and transfer finished pieces to stockroom or shipping area.
- Enforce safety and housekeeping rules at all times.
- Relieve painters for breaks, as required.
- Keep neat, clean organized work area.
- Monitors all work processes.
- Monitor and document SPC and production charts as required.
- Notify Supervisor of discrepancies in safety, quality, production and all associated processes.
- Promote team activity and atmosphere.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 2 to 3 years of continuous experience in automotive painting using a spray gun and solvent based paint
- Ability to communicate to teams and management
- Equipment and process knowledge
- Math and reading skills
- Qualified to wear a respirator
