Position Summary
The position of Automation Specialist is the primary company resource responsible for the Rockwell Automation Software and Controls Offering. The position is primarily inside with some field activity required. A successful Automation Specialist will have a full working knowledge of Rockwell Automation Controller Hardware and Software portfolio. The position must work closely with Sales and Automation resources to manage and grow all related PLC business. Compensation to the position is primarily salary with a potential bonus related to the growth of the Automation Business.
Major Responsibilities
- Sales Support - Primarily responsible for product knowledge of all Automation Software and Control products
- Assist Outside and Inside Sales with selecting the appropriate networking and PLC products to meet customer needs.
- Primary support person for customers needing Pre-Sale Rockwell Automation Software and Control support.
- Participate in customer meetings, providing Rockwell Automation product and system updates and technical Demos.
- Support Outside Sales account reviews and provide guidance on Account Reviews.
- Actively provide sales guidance on product selection for Migration and Conversion opportunities.
- Training - Training resource for all Rockwell Automation Software and Control Products
- Responsible for training Inside and Outside Sales in new Product releases.
- Attend annual PLC training events to ensure competence in Rockwell Automation.
- Responsible for gaining all required base-level knowledge related to standard industrial controls and power integration.
Other Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Automation equipment in Corpus Christi Automation Lab.
- Assist the Outside Sales team and support manager with customer discussions in the Automation Lab.
- Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training, and provide Competency Training to the extended Sales Team.
- Assist with the development of annual automation commercial business plans.
Academic & Trade Qualifications
Essential
- Associate Degree or on-the-job experience (5 years) related to Information and Technology or Industrial Automation
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

- PLC, HMI, Networking Experience
