Automation & Controls Engineer Level Ii

Nucor Steel Memphis is seeking applicants for the position of Automation Engineer Level II.  The role of the Automation Engineer Level II includes but is not limited to performing development, programming, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of level I and level II process control systems (process automation, database, data collection, HMI, SCADA, DCS, etc.). Candidate must be willing to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends/holidays.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa).

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Computer Science, Process, Electrical, or Automation Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience in automation and controls (MES).

Proven experience in Software Development for backend high availability applications. Backend C++, C#, Delphi, or NodeJS. Frontend HTML5, CSS, ExtJS, Angular or PHP.

1+ year Experience with configuration, programming, and database administration for Oracle

Experience in Hardware, Software, Network, Virtualization & Infrastructure

5+ years of experience working on Level 2 systems in an industrial environment.

3+ years of experience working on Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Basic PLC programming experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley).

Experience in AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, and IoT for Manufacturing Environment.
