CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for a Manufacturer in Knoxville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for industrial control system design and conguration efforts for multiple projects on multiple DCS and PLC platforms. This is a temporary to direct hire position.
Pay Rate
$90,000 – $110,000 salary
Relocation assistance offerred
Shifts and Schedules
Hours vary: Could work 8 hours, 5 days or 10 hours, 4 days. Hours can be flexible. 40 hours may be exceeded occasionally
Control Systems Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Handle the implementation of plant automation using in-house integration methods and vendor supplied hardware and software
• Interact with customers to meet the needs of the project or service call
• Interact with sales staff to be sure the requirements of the project are understood
• Act as a team member for the engineering group for some larger projects and as a lead for smaller projects
• Occasionally support the sales staff by reviewing sales proposals prior to a presentation to the customer and by acting as the technical consultant for potential projects
Control Systems Engineer Job Qualifications and Requirements
• A four-year engineering degree or equivalent related experience is required
• Must be willing to travel 20%-50% of the time depending on work assignments
• Must be familiar with Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed Control Systems and various SCADA packages
• Programming/configuration experience for process-related applications including reactors, distillation, and combustion associated with standard process control functions knowledge required
• Batch application experience using S88 standards, Pharma experience with validation documentation and cGMP knowledge required
• Experience writing Functional Design Specications (FDS) and Detail Design Specifications (DDS)
• Knowledge of electrical wiring for industrial control system with the ability to troubleshoot and/or perform redline markups of electrical circuits
• Experience performing onsite deployment, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Fluent Mathematical skills and problem-solving expertise as well as PC/Computer • skills
• Understanding and experience of Ethernet/ Networking and basic cybersecurity practices
