We are actively seeking Audit & Accounting Manager with Non-Profit industry experience to join our growing firm! This position is remote-based in the U.S. if not living local to the NJ/NYC offices.
Role Description:
Core Competencies:
- Responsible for maintaining a good client relationship throughout the year and serving as the client’s main contact
- Know and understand client business goals, strategy, and what motivates the client; serve as a valued business advisor for appropriate client management
- Able to work on multiple engagements effectively and efficiently at one time, while maintaining excellent client service to all clients
- Initiate and execute difficult and crucial conversations in a tactful, mature manner
- Recognize of client needs for technology, human resource, valuation, or financial services and able to make recommendations for improvements
- Effectively communicates technical topics in practical terms to a variety of audiences.
Expertise and Technical Skills
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on latest relevant accounting pronouncements and proactively provide client with relevant information
- Ability to research, interpret, document, and arrive at appropriate conclusions
- Develop strong industry specialized knowledge and be able to run all engagements within industry
- Complete Manager level review for engagements in accordance with the Firm’s quality control policies
- Have sufficient writing skills to effectively and proficiently draft all client deliverables and other business-related communications
Firm Economics and Business Growth
- Strong awareness of engagement economics and the key drivers of success/ profitability
- Assist partners in the billing process and/or financial arrangements as necessary
- Monitor and evaluate engagement realization and leverage staff resources to meet client deadlines
- Develop a working knowledge of the Firm’s service line offerings in all business units
- Participate in internal/ external networking activities, such as joining a committee in an outside organization
Team Member Development
- Clearly communicate performance expectations to team members
- Provide quality on the job training and constructive, fair feedback in a timely manner
- Promote a positive team member environment and open lines of communications
- Delegate appropriately based on risk, engagement status, and staff developmental opportunities; ensure that team members have the growth opportunities to advance to the next level
- Participate in firm recruiting efforts to help attract top talent; take responsibility for helping retain talented team members
Professional and Personal Growth
- Responsible for meeting charge hour and realization goals set for the year
- Research and write articles for Firm publication in areas of expertise
- Think and care about the Firm like an owner. Commit to and uphold Firm values; demonstrate a sense of responsibility and dedication to the success of the organization
- Possess presentation skills necessary to confidently present at an audit committee meeting, industry or trade association, office event, in-house trainings, etc.

- Participate in activities to help internally grow the Firm such as facilitating CPE, recruiting/hiring, inspections, etc.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting
- 6+ years’ experience in public accounting with Non-Profit clients
- CPA license preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
