SUMMARY
Under direction of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) will act as Security Analyst and Audit Coordinator for ABC's CISO. The ITS I is responsible for performing security assessments of ABC IT systems to ensure the safety and security of ABC assets. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring ABC maintains access control to support compliance with FBI and DOJ Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) security policies. The incumbent oversees and coordinates ABC's security audits including CLETS, CORI, N-DEx, CA State Office of Information Security (OIS) audits, and CA Dept of Military security assessments. The incumbent will coordinate with Department, State and Federal oversight entities to assist in the collection of documentation requested by the auditing agency. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and Compliance of the information collected and works with department staff to make necessary corrections before submission to the auditing agency. The incumbent provides expert guidance to, and work with other analysts to maintain and improve the Department's security posture, investigate security events, and assist in protecting the Department's information and information systems from malicious or unwanted behaviors.
This position requires the incumbent maintain consistent and regular attendance; communicate effectively and professionally (both orally and in writing); develop and maintain knowledge and skills, methodologies, materials, tools and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
Position requires less than 5% travel to district offices.

  • Performing internal audits, facilitating external audits and performing security assessments of internal systems.
  • Experience tracking department budgets and contract renewals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of information security principles and best practices and common security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
