Legal Services of North Florida hasan opening for a Disaster Recovery Attorney to work in one of our office locations in North Florida. LSNF handles more than 9,000 cases a year anddoes not charge their clients for their legal services. Be a part of anon-profit law firm, with 105+ employees in seven offices across North Florida,that seeks legal justice while understanding the value of work-life balance.Work independently and as part of a team to obtain positive resultsfor clients with a focus on civil law matters in disaster recovery to include areas such as disasterrecovery, heir property and title clearing, FEMA appeals, insurance claims, and consumer fraud. With a reduced caseload, this role also works along side the disaster team to advocate and help education community members on opportunities such as block and county grant programs, rebuild efforts, public benefits assistance, and other recovery and preventative measures. 

Attorneys at LSNF have the abilityto work collaboratively with superior legal professionals in civil litigationand administrative law to strategize and advocate on behalf of clients and seekjustice. LSNF legal staff also engage in significant litigation including largescale impact work and appellate work. To fulfill the mission to remove barriersto legal access, LSNF carries out community education and outreach withtwo Justice on the Block mobile response units whereindividuals can speak to an attorney, apply for our services, or haveassistance filing pro se documents.

Applicants should be a member of TheFlorida Bar in good standing, with preference given to candidates with publicinterest or legal aid experience. Candidates must have strong organizationaland communication skills, be comfortable interacting with clients, and have adesire to advocate. Applicants must complete the Legal Services of North Florida employment application and submit a resume to be considered for thisposition. 

Salary offers depend on years of experience.Applicants who have recently passed the Bar exam but do not have attorneyexperience can expect an entry salary of $58,000.00. Candidates with ten yearsof experience or more can expect salary range of $76,800 or higher. Candidateswith 20 years of experience or more can expect salary range of $96,900 orhigher. Comprehensive fringe benefits package includes:

• Offices open to public Monday - Thursday
• Immediate paid time off includes holidays, sick leave, and personal leave
• Personal or vacation leave earnings equal 2.4 weeks a year and after two years, increases to 5 weeks per year
• 100% fully paid health insurance for employee & dependent children after 60 days of employment
• Employer paid life insurance policy of $25,000 after 60 days of employment
• Employer contributes 6% to retirement/ 401K plan, after one year of full-time service, no match required
