Attorney, Civil Litigation, Law Firm
Johnson Mark LLC is the region’s premier debt-collection law firm. At JM we are proud to carry an unmatched reputation for effective, compliant, compassionate practice in this very interesting area of Civil Litigation.
We represent major banks and financial institutions in collecting defaulted consumer and business credit-card accounts (including the major cards in your wallet) and other types of creditor-rights work. We file lawsuits for our clients, moving cases through all phases of litigation, including case initiation, hearing work, discovery, motions practice, trial, judgment, and post-judgment remedies. We strive to help consumers work through their personal financial challenges by maintaining robust settlement, workout, and hardship programs.
Our other office locations include Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, and Oregon. Because of persistent client demand, we have opened a Texas practice. Due to the territorial coverage required in Texas, we are not opening a physical office at this time. The ideal candidate for this position will have the benefit of working from home. Primary back-office support will be handled by our Utah and Arizona teams.
The Texas Litigation Associate position is vital to the success of our law practice. The position involves the following key functions:
-Court appearances at hearings through all phases of litigation.
-Preparing, reviewing, and signing pleadings in a high-volume workflow.
-Resolving contested cases with opposing parties / counsel in a professional manner.
-Maintaining excellent relationships with judges, lawmakers, and counsel.
This position reports through our line of communication to and works very closely with our Managing Attorney, who is a member of our Executive Team, and other key leaders at the firm.
Computer skills are necessary for this position: basic data navigating, spread-sheeting, etc. Experience with Texas collection work is very helpful in this position, but not mandatory. We train our team members in all aspects of our practice, the consumer-finance industry, modern legal compliance, and the civil-litigation process, as well as our unique data systems and workflows. The key for this position is being able to demonstrate experience with and passion and aptitude for detailed process work, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
Our clients require our candidates to pass criminal-background checks, drug testing, and US employment-eligibility checks (I-9).
We look forward to hearing from you!
