This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Office of Enforcement. The incumbent serves as Special Counsel for Fair Lending providing expert legal advice and leadership regarding the enforcement of Federal fair lending laws, including but not limited to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).

Responsibilities
As an Attorney-Adviser (General), you may:
- Lead the largest, most difficult, complex, significant and precedent-setting fair lending enforcement matters. Develop and implement investigation strategy, such as the use of testing as well as informal and formal requests for information, civil investigative demands, and witness interviews.
- Provide legal, subject matter, and policy advice and expertise in fair lending laws in enforcement matters and to other enforcement attorneys.
- Act as the principal attorney in charge of litigating fair lending enforcement actions in federal court and administrative proceedings, seeking civil penalties and other remedies.
- Participate substantially in the formulation of fair lending policy through legal analysis of major policy issues affecting the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection enforcement function, including developing policies and procedures for investigations and enforcement actions and advising on special projects.
