Job Description
Position is responsible for tracking and repairing tooling. Tool Crib Attendant charges out tooling and books and monitors their return. Individual replaces or repairs damaged tools.
Responsibilities- Maintain safety and good housekeeping practicing 5S principles.
- Charge out tooling.
- Ship tooling to other branch locations.
- Make sure tools are returned clean and not damaged.
- Repair/replace worn out or damaged tools.
- Assist shop technicians and branch personnel in locating needed tooling.
- Order needed tooling and supplies (could include service shop area restrooms, break areas and office area), tracks purchases.
- Order chemicals and supplies for the dip tank parts washer, and other shop equipment as assigned by Branch/Service Manager. Maintain chemical levels, and maintain all assigned equipment as directed by Branch/Service Manager.
- Maintain tools, keeping them cleaned and properly lubricated (this includes equipment PM maintenance in the shop).
- Regularly audits tooling and stock items to assure that they are properly located and available or properly checked out.
- Establish max/min quantities on appropriate items for inventory reduction and control.
- Monitor and maintain PPE stations to assure PPE is available at all times for Technicians and Visitors.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through a high school education with a technical background
- Knowledge of DBS system
- Knowledge of shop tools and what is needed to repair them
- Good communication skills needed; must communicate with supervision and co-workers informing them of problems, obstacles, opportunities, and information regarding the workplace.
- Ability to work independently; work assignments are completed independently and correctly.
- Understands the value of 6 sigma the workplace and is a good contributor
- Proactively makes improvements to his/her work process and offers suggestions for improving the workplace.
- Takes personal responsibility when dealing with internal and external customers; keeps commitments and does what he/she said they would do.
