Description
Reporting to the Athletics Manager, the Athletic Supervisor is responsible for developing, overseeing, and coordinating a wide range of racquet sports program, camps, contractual programs, and leagues, ensuring their smooth operation and providing a positive and engaging experience for participants. This role involves managing staff and courts, organizing programs and facility usage, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals interested in racquet sports and athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates staff. Assists Athletic Manager in official scheduling and payments.
  1. Schedules, conducts performance reviews, and approves staff payroll records.
  2. Manages all indoor and outdoor pickleball, open play, table tennis, and tennis programs, ensuring a diverse range of activities and skill levels for participants.
  3. Oversees scheduling at Oakton Park pickleball courts.
  4. Coordinates open pickleball sessions, facilitating a welcoming environment for community members to engage in recreational pickleball play.
  5. Supervises, purchases equipment, and organizes Tiny Tot Open Gym sessions, providing a safe and enjoyable space for young children to play and interact.
  6. Develop, plan, and oversee various youth and adult programs, workshops, and events throughout the year, catering to different interests and age groups within the community.
  7. Organize and manage tennis, pickleball, and table tennis leagues, including scheduling matches, and overseeing league instruction.
  8. Coordinate contractual programs and camps offered by external organizations, such Martial Arts and Tae Kwon Do ensuring high-quality experiences for participants.
  9. Acts as a liaison with the Skokie Tennis Association, fostering collaboration and partnership opportunities related to tehnnis programs and events.
  10. Develops fees and follows budgets for program areas they oversee. Carefully monitors revenue and expenses budget reports.
  11. Evaluates the needs of the community and develops new programs, camps, and special events.
  12. Assists with district wide special events including 4th of July, Festival of Cultures, and Backlot Bash.
  13. On call for building, participant, and staff emergencies.
  14. Interacts and communicates with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  15. Will be required to join district wide committees and other recreational events throughout the year as assigned.
  16. Develops camp calendars and purchases supplies, books busing and fieldtrips, and implements activities and schedules for camps and programs assigned.
  17. Oversee various summer camps, including Tennis and Pickleball Camps, ensuring a fun and enriching experience for campers.
  18. Works cooperatively with other facility staff to maintain and communicate the overall facility schedule utilizing RecTrac.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES
Must have a pleasant and enthusiastic personality, the ability to work with staff and interact with the public in a courteous manner. Must perform work responsibilities with minimal supervision. Position will require some evening and weekend hours. Position requires travel to various district facilities, park camp sites, meetings and trainings. Must have a reliable form of transportation. Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
Experience: Knowledge of racquet sports, rules, techniques, and coaching methods. Previous experience organizing sports leagues, camps, and programs including knowledge of recreational sports and activities suitable for different age groups. Experience with program budgeting, financial management, and one to three years of supervising staff. Ideal candidate will have a strong background in coordinating and leading leagues and summer camps. Position will require some evening and weekend hours RecTrac registration software experience highly preferred. Candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with staff, adults, parents and community partners. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Certifications: Must be able to obtain and keep current CPR and AED certifications. Must possess a valid Illinois Drivers' License. CPRP preferred.
