The Equipment Operations unit supports the day-to-day operations of 37 varsity sports, physical education, wellness, and faculty/staff recreation. The unit is responsible for the purchase, maintenance, and repair of equipment, the issuing of team gear and recreational equipment, and the laundering of uniforms and workout apparel. The Equipment Operations unit works to support the Department's philosophy of a sound mind and sound body.
The Lead Equipment Manager for Schoellkopf Hall coordinates the equipment needs for assigned athletic teams. This includes issuing pin bags, uniforms, protective equipment, and sport equipment; repairing and reconditioning equipment; fitting protective equipment; and traveling with the Football team as needed. The Lead also provides oversight of the daily work of the Athletics & Physical Education Equipment work group, as well as manages the laundry operations.
Please note: The normal schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and requires travel with the Football team. Days and hours of operation are subject to change during the summer and inter-session periods. There is no visa sponsorship available for this position.

Working Conditions:
  • Typically lifts 10 - 20 lbs
  • Limited exposure to hazardous conditions/materials/equipment

Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Athletic Equipment Managers Association Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years as an Athletic Equipment Manager after certification with experience in football protective equipment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to become certified within 30 to 60 days of start date
  • Certification for Blood Borne Pathogen Training within 30 to 60 days of start date
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift, move and carry (pushing and pulling)
  • Laundry experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working in Athletics, especially collegiate Athletics
  • Computer knowledge to utilize Helmet Tracker inventory management system
