Job Description:

Portledge School seeks to hire a part-time, salaried, dynamic certified Athletic Trainer to support student-athletes in grades 5 -12. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of Athletic Training student support including but not limited to; ordering supplies, administering SCAT and IMPACT testing to athletes, communicating with parents and school nurses regarding injuries, student injury rehabilitation during the school day, games and practices, on-site training, labeling, and filling water bottles. The position will report to the Athletic Director and work between the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and diagnose student-athlete injuries during games and practices.

• Work with school doctor, following RTP protocols, emergency care, preventive measures, taping and bracing, disposing of hazardous materials, and following OSHA guidelines.

• Maintain ongoing awareness of student’s existing medical conditions and collaborate with school nurses regarding conditions and injuries throughout the school year.

• Attend all faculty and department meetings.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BA Degree minimum, MA Degree preferred

• NATA BOC Certified Athletic Trainer

• Licensed in the state of New York

• Current CPR/AED certification

• Flexibility to work nights and weekends regularly.

Pay Range:

$63,000 - $70,000 per year
