The Associate Therapist is responsible for providing residential addiction and mental health treatment as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, and will report directly to the Clinical Director as part of the clinical management team. The therapist fulfills direct service, including individual /family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention. Additionally, it directly interfaces with residents and families. Facilitates individual and group therapy; management of daily milieu, and providing leadership to support staff.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of clients at admission and re-assessments as required
- Conduct ACRQ at time of admission and at time of discharge
- Conduct twice weekly individual therapy sessions with assigned caseload
- Communicates with third-party insurance provider upon admission (or as necessary)
- Maintains comprehensive clinical documentation that meets or exceeds relevant legal, ethical, and accreditation standards
- Responsible for providing direct therapeutic services in the form of diagnostic assessments and treatment for all clients
- Provide weekly group therapy with residents as needed and directed by Clinical Director
- Facilitate Treatment Planning in the absence of the Clinical Director
- Working knowledge of KIPU electronic health records and CARF charting standards
- Responsible for parent/Referent communication and case management for client caseload (with client’s written consent)
- Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues
- Provide in-service training to staff and trainees on topics as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, etc
- Masters-level therapist or equivalent, AMFT, ACSW or APCC preferred.
- Experience working in substance abuse treatment, preferably in a residential setting.
Qualifications:
- Holds a current license registration issued by appropriate state agency.
- A valid CA driver license, a clean driving record and the ability to transport clients in vehicles
- TB required and health screen, along with CPR and first aid

Pay is $80,000k-$90,000k based on education and experience
