Job Title: Associate, Software Engineer, Applications

Summary of duties: Leverage Sales Platform for Sales and Service Enablement Engineering teams and support all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, application design, system development, testing, implementation, and production, as well as analyze the client and investment management lifecycle, including client contracting and onboarding, portfolio management, trading, compliance, trade settlement, business operational workflows, and overall reporting platforms to design the best solutions. Work as a backend developer to design and build CRUD APIs for the team utilizing technologies like GRPC and Google AIPs. Write code and solutions for sales enablement platform for Aladdin data persistence, utilizing technologies like Java, Spring, Hibernate, and JPA. Create technical design documents to describe the planned solution and the upstream and downstream dependencies & leverage and learn core technologies designed in-house to scale solutions. Write unit and integration tests using frameworks like Junit, Mockito, and Cucumber BDD. Identify gaps in features, creating tasks, and estimating work in Sprint board and use Azuren DevOps to follow the Sprint Scrum in Agile methodology to improve efficiency. Support rotation and debug production issues utilizing Splunk, GIT, SQL, AOP, and Unix for server development. Train the team on building APIs using inhouse API Studio and holding various sessions.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience with: 1. Using SQL and corresponding tools to query data; 2. Programming using Sybase, Java, Python, Cassandra, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit, UNIX, multi-threading, and methodologies including test driven development and object-oriented design and programming; and, 3. Utilizing Agile development methodologies.

For Seattle only the salary range for this position is $130,000 - $137,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
