The Hair Cluster Design Team is looking for an Associate Scientist to join the dynamic, fast-paced R&D Team in North America. North America Hair is one of the biggest regions in the category, with Brands like Dove, TRESemmé, Nexxus and Shea Moisture, the NA BU is responsible for 1.4 Billion USD in Turnover.
The candidate for this position will support the Innovation portfolio for North America as well as helping to execute the Cost Savings and Business continuity strategy for Hair Care, involving Batching and Scale up of Hair products, including Shampoos, Conditioners, Hair treatments and styling (aerosol and non-aerosols). The Candidate will interact with the different functions (Marketing, Supply Chain, Claims, etc) to make sure our innovations land according to timelines. The candidate will also work with the different manufacturing sites to guarantee the proper transference of technology to manufacture our products with quality as well as guaranteeing reproducibility of our formulations.
Who You Are & What You'll Do
You will be responsible for formulation, process development and validation (bench and pilot scale) cross brand and technologies in Hair North America. You will interact with Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement and global technical leaders in order to drive the implementation of the Innovation Pipeline. Resilience and compliance agenda in a timely manner and align with Unilever's quality standards. Interact with Packaging and Consumer Insights in order to make sure our products continue to deliver a delightful consumer experience.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Pay: The pay range for this position is $53,200 to $79,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with internship experience a plus.
- Flexibility and open mindedness in achieving objectives is required.
- The candidate should work well in teams and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with others.
- The candidate should have previous experience in active participation in multidisciplinary team environment by working toward the completion of team initiatives, as well as personal objectives.
- The candidate must be able willing to learn, to work independently, have strong technical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
