SalaryThis is what you will do:
The Associate Scientist II will perform assigned tasks to support the operational scale up of Pilot-scale manufacturing processes for Alexion’s bio-therapeutic candidates. Work routinely in collaboration with other members of Process Development and other groups in Product Development and Clinical Supply organization.
You will be responsible for:
- Support of pilot scale operations (up to 500L product bioreactor and corresponding downstream purification process) including upstream mammalian cell culture, downstream purification steps, and buffer preparation operations for production of biologics.
- Assisting in laboratory management including projection of material needs and maintenance of lab and pilot scale equipment, set up and clean up activities
- Documenting results in electronic notebooks, paper forms, and technical reports
You will need to have:
- MS with 1+ years or BS with 2 + years of experience
- Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience in any area of biologics process development (cell culture and/or purification) or biologics manufacturing
We would prefer for you to have:
- Understand of assigned technical tasks
- Interpersonal skills to delivers effective technical presentations within functional group, drafts, edits and finalizes technical documents without templates
- Collaborate with team to achieve shared objectives!
- Conduct assigned routine tasks in the scale up area with limited supervision, operational experience with Pilot Scale bioreactors, and/or chromatography skids is a plus.
- Strategic ability: Regularly interacts with peers within same functional group
- Ownership: Works with supervisor and coworkers to ensure assigned tasks are completed, Understands/acts on priority of assigned tasks under direct supervision
- Manage aspects of a technical project.
