Overview

Invicro is seeking applicants for a Senior Associate Scientist position to support the clinical activities for our growing chemistry team. As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for chemistry development and implementation of novel PET radioligands in a translational environment going from pre-clinical to clinical imaging studies, supporting advancement in several disease areas including oncology and neurodegenerative disorders. The position will involve handling of radioisotopes and all facets of GMP production and quality control analysis of radiopharmaceuticals in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment while working alongside senior team members to gain extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of PET synthesis, imaging and medicinal chemistry.

Essential Functions

•       Production and quality control analysis of radiopharmaceuticals to support discovery phase through GMP implementation.

•       Carry out environmental monitoring of GMP laboratories.

•       Carry out metabolite analysis for prepared tracers.  

•       Establish and implement analytical methods for characterization of radiolabeled compounds (e.g. rad-TLC, rad-HPLC).

•       Troubleshoot technical problems and interpret and communicate results to the team in a timely and efficient manner.

•       Prepare reports to communicate study results to internal management.

•       Generate representative and relevant documentation to enable routine GMP manufacturing by technician staff and in accordance with department procedures.

•       Maintain compliance with radiation safety, company/departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

•       Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

•       B.Sc. with +5 years of experience, M.Sc. with +3 years of experience or Ph.D. with +1 year of experience.

•       Work in a radiochemistry lab (can include graduate work/post-doctoral work, or industry experience) preferred.

•       Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform hands on work, acquire new knowledge, and learn new skills.

•       Ability to function well and independently and in a fast-paced R&D environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt quickly to ever changing needs to support current research projects in a highly focused and self-motivated manner.

•       Experience with radiosynthesis, HPLC purification and quality control for PET imaging highly desired.

•       Create a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.

•       Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills.
