The Global Labs Tech at Lilly team delivers and maintains applications that support the Global Lab organization at Lilly. This team is part of the broader Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) Information Technology organization that continues to transform as we look to the digital plant of the future and support manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts maximizing the use of technology and analytics.
The Global Lab Tech at Lilly team works in partnership with the Global Lab business central and site representatives to define business needs and provide solutions for Lab. This team is responsible for the support and solution delivery of IT tools that support the Global Lab business application portfolio, such as LIMS, LES, ELN, CDS, and Lab intelligence solution.
Responsibilities:
Lilly has embarked on a broad Digital Transformation journey in the Manufacturing Laboratory area and is currently developing / deploying their new global solution to our laboratories at all our manufacturing sites worldwide as part of the NextGen Labs Program. The Deployment Coordinator will support the deployment of the global LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and LES (Laboratory Execution System) solution to the manufacturing sites. This position acts as the primary technical contact for the site and has principal responsibility for driving all Tech at Lilly related activities to deploy the system including facilitation of local configuration, master data extraction from existing systems, data transformation to meet the requirements of the new solution, data loading, local instrument & system interfacing based on the global developed approach for site implementation.
What You'll Be Doing:
Based on your understanding of laboratory activities and site needs, you will drive the implementation of a global LIMS & LES Solution at sites in collaboration with local Tech at Lilly resources, business partners, Global Services, Tech at Lilly architects & business integrators and subject matter experts. Your role will be to drive the implementation of a simplified future state design, be the bridge between global and local teams and maximize the usefulness of the IT asset to achieve the laboratory transformation.
How You'll Succeed:
Here will be your main Role & Responsibility:
- Lead the implementation of the global LIMS & LES Solution at sites, oversee the project execution, drive delivery to meet timelines and be responsible for the implementation project.
- Work in close partnership with local Business & IT teams as well various global business, IT organizations and architects (SAP, MES, MODA, Empower and Data Analytics) to deploy the Solution.
- Utilize solid understanding of laboratory business processes to anticipate site short term and future needs, ensure that the solution deployed at site fits with site need but also aligns with the global design and templates.
- Leverage deep understanding of how the IT tools are used by the business and how these tools interact to influence the business to think in new ways by providing direction, including alternative options for meeting business outcomes.
- Coordinate and balance activities for a diverse, multicultural team (internal employees and contractors, on-site and remote) while supporting multiple site deployments at a time.
What You Should Bring:
- Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e., GMP), strong understanding and application of corporate policies and procedures, strong understanding of quality processes in IT applying to manufacturing.
- Demonstrated understanding and / or experience in LIMS implementation and design, particularly in the Manufacturing Operations space.
- Good understanding of business process in the Quality Labs space including processes around batch/sample management, test execution, stability, interfaces with laboratory equipment and master data management
- Hands-on experience in all phases of a typical system deployment from Requirement Gathering, Configuration, Data Loading, Go-Live Support and Hypercare.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, with proven success at delivering key messages to both management and peers across multiple business functions.
- Excellent initiative and self-management skills as well as ability to lead teams without having direct authority, influence others and manage conflict.
- Ability to thrive in a complex, changing, virtual environment while supporting multiple manufacturing sites.
- Highly flexible, while anticipating, embracing and adapting to changes in priorities, requirements and processes.
- Project leadership experience
- Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to evaluate, facilitate, and drive towards risk-based decision making.
- Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
- Fluent in English
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- 3+ years experience in driving project in the Manufacturing Operations space
- Experience supporting site manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of LIMS & LES Systems (LabVantage, StarLIMS, Darwin, SmartLab)
- Understanding of Agile methodology
Additional Information:
- Position location: will need to be on one of our Manufacturing sites (US, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Puerto Rico) or Technology Centers (India)
- Travel to US or other Lilly entities required. 10 to 30%
- After hours support may be required to support 24/7 manufacturing operations
