ASSOCIATE OUTREACH MANAGER

Work Location: Anaheim, CA

Term: Full-time, occasional evening and weekends required

Position Status: Exempt

Pay Range:$70,000-85,000/year commensurate with skills and experience

Reports to: Director of Development

Requirements: Reliable vehicle to get to locations across southern California

About the Role: The role of the Associate Outreach Manager will be to manage and coordinate regional organizers to conduct outreach and education to the community on CAIR-LA's programs and services; this includes overseeing our year-long outreach calendar, leading turnout efforts, and helping to secure CAIR-LA booths, community announcements and flyering at Friday prayers, community events, and other strategic platforms to share and market CAIR-LA's ongoing initiatives and campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and coordinate outreach team to conduct outreach and education to the community on CAIR-LA's programs and services; this includes overseeing our year-long outreach calendar and helping to secure CAIR-LA booths, community announcements and flyering at Friday prayers, community events, and other strategic platforms to share and market CAIR-LA's ongoing initiatives and campaigns
• Manage on-the-ground outreach efforts for major fundraising campaigns in Ramadan and leading up to CAIR-LA Annual Gala. Workplan may also include coordination on regional fundraising efforts in North LA and the San Fernando Valley.
• Work with supervisor to create mobilization strategy on ongoing campaigns and initiatives including letter sign-on campaigns, calling campaigns, and petitions for issues of concern to the Greater LA Muslim community.
• Work with supervisor to create recruitment strategy and manage outreach team on participant recruitment for CAIR-LA programs including Muslim Day at the Capitol, Muslim Community Action Network, youth leadership programs and other CAIR-LA programs.
• Work with supervisor to oversee grant reporting and deliverables for local and statewide outreach grants for CAIR-LA and CAIR-CA including our work with California Office of Emergency Services and California Department of Social Services.
• Work with supervisor to create and execute strategy to deliver CAIR-LA services to hard-to-reach constituencies within the Greater LA Muslim community including low-income families, new immigrants, refugees, converts/reverts, returning citizens, youth, and others.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Greater LA Muslim community including masjid and nonprofit leaders, MSA leaders, and allies in multifaith and multiracial organizing landscape.
• All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, job recruitment, and other office tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-4 years experience in nonprofit or similar experience
• 1-3 years experience of experience managing multiple staff members
• Strong interpersonal skills and seasoned ability to build rapport with key stakeholders
• Deep familiarity and experience working with the American Muslim community
• Patience and an excellent customer service orientation
• Experience with strategizing and campaigns
• Passion for CAIR-LA's mission and values
• Growth mindset and ability to receive constructive feedback
• Self-starting with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Excellent personal accountability and follow-through
• Can meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
• Being multilingual is a plus
• Familiarity with digital campaign and organizing tools is a plus
• Willingness and flexibility to change job requirements as the team grows
• Valid automobile driver's license and working vehicle required; this position will involve extensive travel throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area
• Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule including nights and weekends.
