You will be tasked with the following:
- Act as corporate liaison to designated contract business clients to assess contract performance, including meeting/exceeding standards with respect to animal health and welfare, facilities condition, sanitation levels and facility security. Report findings to IS management with recommendations for improvements.
- Backfill for Project Managers during leaves of absence, vacations, key personnel vacancies or new contract startups.
- Work with Operations Management and HR staff to investigate personnel problems and assist in developing performance improvement plans, provide counseling and disciplinary actions to employees.
- Generate and submit internal and external reports. Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs and inventories as requested by supervisor and/or client.
- Be able to act as a back up to monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations and animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, recording animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols.
- Provide guidance to employees in the performance of technical support and husbandry responsibilities including but not limited to: animal handling and restraint, animal identification (ear tagging, ear punch, tattooing), breeding colony management of rodents (sexing and weaning, tail snips, ear tagging, plug checks), blood and tissue collection and processing, injections (IP, IM, SQ, IV), medical treatments as directed, clinical observations, and assist with research procedures as directed.
- Assist with Operations Managerial activities and functions including but not limited to: training, QA, onsite supervisory oversight of facility operations and personnel, and deliverable report preparation.
- Maintain accurate records and database management: of animal breeding, health, and housing/isolator or support areas as required by site and regulations.
- Receive, inspect and put away incoming animals and complete related receiving duties. Assist with receipt, stocking and maintenance of supply inventories.
