The Associate Logistics Manager - Projects is responsible for leading continuous improvement projects, applying lean and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, and driving efficiencies by streamlining process flow and distribution center layout. In addition, this position will ensure metrics are being reported as well as lead root cause analysis to identify potential issues. Will also work to bring solutions to enable the site to achieve peak productivity as soon as possible after go-lives.
Examples of projects across the network include:
- Supporting the smooth roll-out of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for our new/existing distribution centers in North America.
- Establishing, validating and implementing Labor Management System (LMS) processes and assisting the North American distribution centers to reach goals as defined by these engineered standards.
This high visibility role will require extended travel during the site openings and roll-outs. There is a formal PMO deployment team and a "Project High-Score" team nationally that will work collaboratively to drive success as a cohesive team.
Extended travel will be expected the first year
- Deploy to NA sites as they go live on our new WMS and LMS systems; boots on the ground to support the sites
- Collaborate with functional leaders on key performance metrics that are tracking the recovery efforts of each go-live
- Drive engagement with the local teams and the support functions; using metrics to drive decisions
- Monitor site and shift performance metrics and provide necessary actions to improve productivity
- Align expectations for go-live; establish realistic timelines for each site to achieve daily KPIs
- Provide root cause analysis of daily service escalations and provide corrective action feedback to leadership teams
- Assist the overall site operations leader in developing and implementing site process improvements, operational changes, and collaborate on project initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison and mentor to shift supervisors and hourly leads to ensure daily operational activities and goals are met.
- Drive logistics plans through clear communication and close cooperation with Customer Service, Materials Planning, Manufacturing and major suppliers/vendors.
- Partner with Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Carriers & Customers to proactively avoid & resolve quality and service issues relating to logistics.
- Manage projects to improve performance and meet customer needs, generating and implementing innovations for improved performance and a logistical competitive advantage.
- Monitor fixed assets and coordinate implementation of approved CARs, and support budgeting for site logistics with focus on continuously improving year-over-year performance against metrics.
- Manage inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing & customer service driving performance to metrics through the communication standard logistics metrics to direct reports and effectively resolving quality, service & cost issues.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of supply chain, logistics or related experience
- Proven experience with project management and/or business analysis
- Strong problem-solving, analytic, conceptual, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including executive-level presentations
- Ability to travel up to 90% of the time within the first-year
- No immigration sponsorship available for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics / Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or Mathematics
- SAP or Korber operations and reporting capability
- Self-starter with detail orientation; persistence and ability to work independently to drive execution.
- Solid understanding of supply chain drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience
- Ability to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information and to develop and recommend strategies and communicate them clearly
- Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, glean and form business insights under aggressive timelines
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:
100,000
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range.
