Position Specific Description
Our Grid Control Systems Department is looking for a dynamic and motivated Associate Engineer to join their team to contribute to the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
The selected candidate for this role will:
• Offer technical assistance and contribute to the maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of our Advanced Distribution Management System.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the integration of ADMS components into our existing infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and data flow.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of the ADMS system and participate in identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal functionality.
• Support in configuring and maintaining ADMS software, databases, and hardware components to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in ADMS technology and contribute to implementing upgrades and enhancements as needed.
• Participate in training sessions and receive mentorship to develop your skills. Collaborate with senior engineers to gain knowledge and expertise.
Familiarity with ADMS software, including SCADA, DMS, and OMS, is preferred. Basic understanding of power distribution systems, grid operations, and grid modeling is a plus. Job Overview
This job is responsible for planning, developing, engineering, implementing, and operations of grid monitoring and control systems and corresponding infrastructure. Employees in this role modify, de-commission or commission the associated architecture, infrastructure, and communication systems. This position is required to comply with national/regional standards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Performs systems planning, systems development, operational, and/or maintenance activities of the systems and infrastructure associated with the grid monitoring and control systems and/or Emerging Technology
• Executes assigned activities to ensure reliable performance of systems and infrastructure associated with grid monitoring and control systems
• Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific functional area to represent the organization for audits or spot checks
• Supports and executes the requirements of FRCC Reliability Coordinator Operations per FPL/FRCC Agent Agreement related to the FPL SCC
• Ensures compliance to the NERC Reliability Standards related to the SCC with special emphasis to standards related to the availability and integrity of grid monitoring and control systems and infrastructure
• Executes Operational Excellence goals and initiatives of a functional team within the T and S Technology organization
• Helps establish and maintain a process driven functional team within organization
• Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
• Ability to work extended hours
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
