Partnering with Blue Owl's GP Strategic Capital group is more than just a financial transaction. We give our underlying partners access to our 40+ person post-investment team, the Business Services Platform (BSP). Based in New York, London and Hong Kong, BSP takes a customized approach to serve our partners across a variety of strategic initiatives. BSP drives growth and industry best practices, helping each of our partner firms evolve and pursue their own strategic vision.
About the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pillar on BSP:
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pillar specializes in advising our Partner Managers on their DEI initiatives across people strategy, corporate and investment practices, and community impact with a focus on program implementation across the GPs, as well as their respective portfolio companies. The team has a set of proprietary diagnostic and data analytics tools that were created to provide data-driven insights to help drive forward initiatives and workstreams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project manage key DEI initiatives - this includes, but is not limited to: developing materials, maintaining data, participating in brainstorming sessions, managing communications and logistics; working with various teams (internal and external) to understand needs, timelines, key players, etc.
- Build out Board Diversity advisory offering, including best practices guides for increasing representations on Boards
- Source data for key stakeholders accurately capture and analyze Partner Manager portfolio company board and C-suite diversity
- Become subject matter expert in service providers and certification programs focused on diverse board candidates
- Draft reports for distribution outlining the current state and advancements of board diversity to share across portfolio
- Assist with development of Supplier Diversity specialization in partnership with third party provider
- Collect and sanitize data for enrichment exercises and industry benchmarking
- Serve as relationship manager to third party provider to ensure key engagements are done in a timely fashion
- Develop best practices guidebooks on Supplier Diversity for small, medium, and large partner manager firms
- Develop further expertise in Employee Ownership programs
- Continue to develop the DEI Pillar's community impact sub-offering with a focus on institutionalizing our philanthropy and corporate giving advisory and assisting with the development of our supplier diversity practice
- Work with Partner Managers on signatory readiness for various industry signatory bodies, such as ILPA Diversity in Action, Women's Awareness Initiative, and CFA DEI Code
- Serve as relationship manager across DEI service providers, corporate partnerships, and industry partnerships
- Support build-out and creation of a partnership matrix and best practices guides for engagement
- Assist with day to day management of cross-portfolio programming including internship and mentorship programs
- Assist with data collection and clean-up for Partner Manager bespoke benchmarking exercises
- Prepare a variety of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and subject matter experts to understand and define new developments in the aforementioned focus areas in order to draw insights to develop action steps for future recommendations and thought leadership
- Evaluate industry benchmark data and research to provide insights on industry trends and progress
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of benchmark surveys across and outside of the portfolio
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated interest in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and / or social responsibility work
- Experience within alternative asset management, investment banking, or management consulting preferred
- Advanced experience with Microsoft suite of products (Excel and Powerpoint, in particular)
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI preferred
- Excellent attention to detail as well as time management, prioritization, and organizational skills; Strong ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively while balancing multiple projects, tasks, and deliverables in time-sensitive situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with many diverse individuals across internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Action-oriented individual used to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solving and exceptional client servicing skills for internal and external stakeholders
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $115,000 to $125,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
