Job Description:
Longwood University is seeking an Associate Director, Work-Based Experiences to serve as an integral member of the Career Services Team within the Office of Alumni and Career Services (OACS). The Associate Director, Work-Based Experiences' primary duties will be related to the development and implementation of career focused experiential programming for Longwood University students.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work collaboratively with staff, faculty, employers, and alumni to identify high impact, work-based student experiences in alignment with departmental goals and strategic planning. (i.e., work-shadow, micro-internships, and internships)
- Guide students in matching career interests with available experiences, facilitate placement and provide support throughout program enrollment when needed
- Assist in the development of a student application, approval, and tracking process for work-based learning experiences in partnership with university faculty and career services leadership
- Work in partnership with university faculty and staff administering work-based student learning experiences to collect data and outcomes in adherence with grant and university reporting requirements
- Collaborate with career services staff and academic faculty to market work-based learning opportunities to Longwood University students
- Assist with other Alumni and Career Services events and programming as needed
- Provide guidance and assist with supervision of the Career Services student workers as needed
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree with a focus in education, counseling, or related field is preferred
- Highly organized with experience related to data management, tracking, and reporting
- The ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and reporting requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working with both employers and students preferred.
- Proficient with utilizing technology (i.e., Handshake, Canvas, Microsoft Office, etc.).
This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
