Reporting to the Director, Women's Health Communications, this position will partner closely with cross-functional leaders, providing strategic counsel, support and execution of brand communications, driving positive business impact and improved awareness about our medicines, devices and our corporate brand. This individual will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, a strong healthcare background, experience supporting digital/influencer strategies, a firm understanding of global markets and experience translating scientific and technical information for diverse audiences.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative communications strategies and activities for the Women's Health Business Unit supportive of corporate brand and commercial business priorities and objectives.
- Develop press releases, key message documents, Q&As, standby statements for key milestones and events (campaign launches, congresses, publications, regulatory milestones) and manage the necessary internal reviews and approvals of materials.
- Represent communications on select cross-functional teams, providing communications counsel and partnership, with an emphasis on launch preparedness and post-market engagement initiatives.
- Manage multiple, critical communications projects simultaneously and independently.
- Partner with country and regional External Affairs colleagues to develop and implement programs across key markets and regions in support of the global communications strategies; and help shape and convey our Company's story and positioning alongside commercial, business development and R&D colleagues.
- In partnership with the Corporate, Digital and Innovation teams, develop creative and compelling content to communicate the value of our medicines/devices to external audiences.
- In partnership with the Policy team, build stakeholder trust through proactive outreach efforts with patient organizations and communities.
- Drive employee (Founder) awareness and understanding about Organon's portfolio through meaningful organizational communications that engage, educate and inspire.
- Provide brand subject matter expertise and support to Corporate/Executive Communications and External Affairs colleagues.
- Supervise agency partners to drive tactical execution of communications strategies, managing associated budgets and ensuring that communications goals are achieved.
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience and Skills:
- At least 7 years of experience in PR, Communications in biotech/pharmaceuticals or with a healthcare public relations agency or related field.
- Global and/or U.S. Launch experience.
- Strong executive presence and outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to successfully influence without authority and effectively work across functions and personalities.
- Excellent business judgment when making decisions; always considers the relevance/impact of each decision on the business.
- Ability to work well under pressure, successfully navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, often unpredictable environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Track record for adding value, execution excellence and driving results.
- Strong organizational skills and business acumen including prioritization, project management, budgeting, creative problem solving, attention to detail and adherence to policies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work within a team environment and deliver results.
- Experience working with and managing public relations and other agencies/vendors.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter with an innovative and resilient mindset.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience in executive communication, corporate and Women's Health fields.
- Strong understanding of the technical side of the healthcare business, including regulatory environments, pricing and access.
- Experience partnering with external spokespeople (patient and healthcare providers) to share their experiences, both in media interviews and on social media.
- Superior interpersonal communications skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to persuade a wide variety of audiences.
- High learning agility - able to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proficiency with web-based, digital communications and internal/external social media tools.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to develop new, innovative ways to drive communications in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong experience operating within a global corporate environment.
