HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
Manages the OSP Post Award Financial Officers portfolio workload. Principally responsible for the oversight of project setup in the financial system, invoicing, internal and external financial reporting, Effort Reporting, Award Closeout, F&A proposal preparation, annual federal single audit process, and the fiscal closeout of sponsored accounts.
Manages and assists in the direction of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) personnel, work product, and budget.
Advises staff on both routine and complex decisions involving the appropriate expenditure of restricted funds.
Assists the Director of Post Award in the coordination of activities and ensures adequate workload distribution among assigned personnel.
Monitors production levels and quality of work performed with specific metrics.
Assists the Director of Post Award in the hiring of new personnel and completing performance evaluations of current personnel within institutional guidelines.
Reviews and modifies the unit's business processes and procedures to ensure efficient management of sponsored grants and agreements.
Assists in the implementation of systems to meet objectives to accomplish departmental and institutional goals.
Maintains and supports an efficient system of internal and external review, approval, and implementation for appropriate management and oversight of grant and sponsored agreement awards.
Works with faculty, institutional staff, the Controller's office and staff in Research Administration on a continuous basis to seek methods to improve processes.
Provides guidance to investigators and university staff to efficiently and effectively manage grants and other sponsored awards in a manner that is fully compliant with sponsors regulations and institutional policies through facilitation of grants management training and development.
May serve as the Director of Post Award representative when requested.
Assists departmental staff and principal investigators in reviewing and interpreting data and reports related to grant expenditures and funding.
Works with departmental staff to implement "best practices" for grants review and monitoring, including developing of new reports to support departments and principal investigators needs.
Assists with the review and monitor of grants, including budget over-run report, a project end notification report, and receivable aging reports.
Provides quarterly activity report to the OSP Post Award Director.
Assist in strategic planning for the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Assists the OSP Post Award Director and other managers tin the Office of Sponsor Programs to plan and develop Iong range goals.
Interacts with representatives from external organizations/institutions on eternally funded project matters.
Assists with all audits for Georgia State University and Georgia State University Research Foundation related to Sponsored Programs.
Maintain records of audits and outcomes and work with the OSP Post Award Director to draft corrective actions when applicable.
Prepares or supervises preparation of annual research reports and surveys.
Assists in the preparation of facilities and Administration rate proposal and negotiation. Perform other duties as assigned.
