The Associate DirectorInsights Lead at Jazz is a strategic thought partner, analytical expert who provides critical contributions to brand team, life-cycle planning, forecasting and senior management decisions requiring primary market research, secondary data analysis and/or competitive intelligence.
The Associate Director operates as the primary knowledge repository for primary and secondary data regarding the market and brand, planning research methodologies to meet defined business objectives, market research regarding products in development, and initiating and leading team activities to bring the entire team to a base level of knowledge regarding the market, product and market landscape. The Associate Director will propose and execute a market research and advanced analytics plan and inform the team of the key conclusions and suggested applications of study results, keeping the insights actionable and applicable to current business decisions.
This role will also be responsible for monitoring development landscape for the franchise. The Associate Director must quickly establish credibility to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Forecasting, Business Operations, Global Competitive Intelligence, Life Cycle Management leads, Medical Affairs, Investor Relations, Senior leadership, and others.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Lead a comprehensive market intelligence process for Rylaze (currently approved for ALL/LBL) within the Oncology Business Unit and contribute to collaborative, strategic insights sharing across the Oncology franchise.
• Initiate and facilitate activities that enhance the oncology brand teams' knowledge regarding the product attitudes and usage, market dynamics, and competition
• Strong understanding of secondary data sources including medical claims, EMR and other secondary sources to put together an integrated analysis combining market research and secondary sources to address key business questions.
• Select appropriate research methodology to address business objectives, design qualitative and quantitative research plans for existing brands and products in development
• Develop and present timely final reports and actionable recommendations to key stakeholders, focusing on key findings and relevant implications to each stakeholder group, and to Jazz in general
• Represent the voice of the customer (e.g., physicians, patients) to the organization by maintaining and communicating a holistic understanding of the marketplace synthesized from an array of primary and secondary sources
• Communicate and align key internal stakeholders around market research objectives and outputs including qualifying the results based on the strength of the data and identifying any limitations and caveats
• Propose and manage yearly Rylaze A&I budgets, identifying efficiencies that can optimize our insights generation efforts across the portfolio, when appropriate
• Collaborate with Global Competitive Intelligence team to develop a unified perspective on implications of market activities to the brand
• Work with forecasting to provide input on key variables
• Work with cross functional partners to support overall franchise strategy, which includes development and delivery of Situation Analysis to support annual brand planning cycle

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree required. MBA highly preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience conducting primary market research with physicians and/or patients.
• Oncology drug experience and/or Orphan Drug experience highly preferred
• Strong market research and advanced analytical skills.
• Consulting experience preferred but not required
• Demonstrated pro-active leadership of brand/project team activities regarding strategy and/or market research findings
• Experience with new product, brand, advertising, and customer satisfaction research methodologies
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Demonstrable strong written and oral communication abilities; strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (verbal, written and presentation skills).
• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Tableau and Access
• Familiarity with industry-standard resources for primary/secondary research and forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and gain alignment across an organization
• Expect travel ~20% to 30%
• Strong interpersonal, managerial and leadership abilities.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $140,000-$183,750. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in various benefits offerings, including, but not limited to, medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k retirement savings plan, and flexible paid vacation.
