ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES, Economics/Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to join an anti-poverty center that fights poverty and climate change around the world through evidence-informed policy. Headquartered in the Economics Department, J-PAL has seven regional offices worldwide and staff who are based in almost a dozen countries. Will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of HR for J-PAL’s Global office; developing HR policy in partnership with senior leadership followed by its effective implementation; collaborating closely with MIT’s School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS) and central MIT offices; conducting employee relations and working to improve recruitment, retention, and staff morale; and helping J-PAL strengthen its feedback and performance management practices, professional development, and diversity and inclusion practices. The position involves working closely with the global executive Director of J-PAL; members of the senior management team and the directors of verticals such as finance, policy, research, and training; and the senior leadership of J-PAL’s international offices.
