Responsibilities:
- Proactively seek out opportunities to maximize the business.
- Work with merchandising partners to create seasonal direction in silhouette, fabric and concept for specific classification, keeping true to the overall design direction.
- Drives newness and innovation within product classification through a variety of resources including trend websites, runway, shopping, and fabric and trim direction
- Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Graphics) through communication and problem solving.
- Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business to design and execute specific classifications
- Understand the fundamentals of the production process as it relates to the classification.
- Initiates tech packs, including detailed sketches, garment construction, fabric construction, trimmings, etc.; also include extensive pitch sheet with all color way information, pattern layout/placement information.
- Manage deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar.
- Create and update seasonal assortment sheet.
- Adhere to the design team budget and invoice process
- Minimum of 3 years of design experience, preferably within a vertical retail organization
- Strong sketching skills
- Understanding of the youth market and Aero customer
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Takes a solution-oriented approach
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Photoshop, & Illustrator, PLM and InDesign
- Travel may be required, based on business needs.
- Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.

- Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
- Ability to reach at or below shoulder level
- Ability to carry equipment, move boxes/samples, etc.
