Associate Designer, Bags & Accessories

The ideal candidate will have had experience in product design in-house, circular design innovation, and at luggage/bags design focused companies.

The Associate Designer, Bags & Accessories role reports to the Design Director, Bags and Accessories and will require a weekly in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What you’ll do as an Associate Designer, Bags & Accessories:

• Assist in the design of our growing line of bags and accessories

• Provide support in hand sketching, CAD and technical drawings in Illustrator

• Review material lab dips and organize trims and hardware, to ensure all materials are accounted for at various stages in the design process

• Maintain knowledge of current trends and relevant products on the market, as well as user-centered methodologies

• Participate in daily communication with cross functional teams on timelines and updates

• Practice continual refinement of our product offering, while ensuring brand integrity is maintained

Who you are:

• Minimum 2 year of relevant design work experience

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop required, 3D modeling software skills are strongly beneficial, but not required

• Basic understanding of product construction and textiles, ability to measure samples and participate in sample reviews

• Flexibility and time management, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and take responsibility for deadlines

• An understanding of minimal design, a solid understanding of color, and enthusiasm to problem solve

• An excellent communicator

• Detail-oriented and organized

• Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

• Passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)

Compensation Package:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards program that also includes benefits, bonus, equity and various social and professional investment opportunities at Away. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Away to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

• Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 70,000.00 annually

• This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined on an annual basis at the discretion of the company

• Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company
