Summary of the Job:

We are looking for an Associate Creative Director who's hungry to apply their creative expertise to deliver award-winning integrated campaign work. In this multi-faceted role, you will have the opportunity to partner with designers and art directors to execute creative work in addition to directing junior creatives. This candidate has excellent collaboration skills, is conceptually strong, and has proven experience partnering with Creative Directors, Account Management, Brand Planners, and Social Strategists in creating smart creative work and stewarding bullet-proof client relationships. Our next Associate Creative Director can work across all mediums, including broadcast/OLV, media, social, experiential, PR, and print, balancing curiosity and innovation with a deep understanding of our client's businesses. This candidate will embody, join, and uphold our company mission through their creative work, strategic thinking, and partnerships with integrated teams: Come Together, Stand Apart.

Essential Functions/Principal Accountabilities of the Job:


  • Day-to-day responsibilities of the ACD Team include but are not limited to:
  • Own creative assignments including (but not limited to) video, digital, social, experiential, and print in collaboration with partnered creatives, prioritizing craft and execution that is in-line with client tone, voice, objectives, and big-picture business goals.
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned client(s) business with guidance from your Group Creative Director, Account Management, and Brand Planning teams.
  • Has great taste, presentation skills, and excels in communication.
  • Coordinates production work through the relevant departments; working effectively with outside suppliers and guiding the selection of directors, photographers, typography, cast, voice talent, sound design and music as required.
  • Communicates and collaborates daily with Creative Directors, Account Management, Brand Planning, Social Strategy, Project Management, Director of Creative Operations, and partnered creatives to ensure project success.
  • Ability to engage with creative and account leaders to translate contextual, strategic, and business goals of designated client through their work.
  • Actively ideates and pitches integrated campaign ideas for designated client(s) to Creative Directors.
  • Actively participates in the ad community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events, and referring your best and the brightest creative peers to the agency.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to Carmichael Lynch's culture by attending company-wide events, jumping at opportunities to celebrate your colleagues, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, all-in attitude.

Note: These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and are the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.


Working Relationships, Autonomy, and Supervision:

The Associate Creative Director must interact with and effectively collaborate with all personnel of Carmichael Lynch. For this role, you will regularly work with the following teams: Creative, Project Management, Account Management, Social Strategy, Brand Planning, Production, Studio, PR, and Content Lab.

Management/project oversight comes from: Group Creative Director.

Assigned projects come from: Director of Creative Operations.


Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Education:
    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in advertising, journalism, visual art, or a closely-related field.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • A minimum of 8-10 years experience and a portfolio with demonstrated culture-bending, business-altering work.
    • Proven leadership abilities that delight clients and inspire fellow creatives.
    • An affinity for being the connective tissue across integrated creative campaigns and constantly taking work from great to award-winning.
    • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
    • Have led and/or are associated with highly-awarded creative output that Stands Apart.
