Job Overview:
The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking attorney candidates for a position in its Office of General Counsel.
Salary: Approximately $100,896 annually DOE
Additional Benefits: 11 paid holidays, 12 paid vacation days, 12 paid sick days per year; 401K, pension, health insurance
Key responsibilities:
- Represent the department in administrative law cases
- Provide legal advice to healthcare licensure boards
- Analyze proposed legislation
Minimum qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Law License
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Westlaw
- Candidate must be able to work cooperatively with department staff in diverse areas and must be willing to work extra hours as necessary.
- Candidate must be willing to travel (throughout the state of Tennessee) on occasion.
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions in keeping with the goals and mission of the department
- No prior or pending disciplinary actions with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
Education requirements:
Applicant must have graduated from an accredited law school with a J.D.
