WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Associate Corporate Counsel will have the opportunity to be involved in a broad array of legal matters affecting a growing medical device company. The individual in this role will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating a range of contracts, applying sound legal judgment to contract analysis and providing guidance to business stakeholders on risks and legal issues. The Associate Corporate Counsel will report to the Corporate Counsel. This is a remote position with light travel required. Your responsibilities will include:
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts including clinical trial agreements, commercial contracts, purchase agreements, supplier agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and data privacy agreements.
- Complete comprehensive reviews of contracts and terms and conditions to identify, mitigate, and/or eliminate unusual risks, liabilities, and remedies in accordance with corporate polices and sound business judgment.
- Collaborate with Corporate Counsel and business departments to drive projects to successful completion.
- Research and anticipate legal issues that could impact the company and apply learnings to guide the company.
- Identify intellectual property and data privacy issues requiring further internal review.
- Support data privacy programs, policies, and procedures.
- Manage legal workload, track contract status, communicate status to internal clients, proactively move contracts and legal projects forward toward completion, and contribute to maintaining and improving legal operations.
- Must be admitted to a United States bar;
- 1+ years of experience as an attorney in a medical device, medical technology, pharmaceutical, or biotech in-house setting or law firm experience in these industries;
- Experience structuring and drafting various types of agreements;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others at all levels, both internal and external to the company;
- Ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal professionals and provide practical, actionable legal advice;
- Strong negotiating skills with both legal and commercial issues;
- Ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships across all functions in the organization.

- Able to manage a heavy workload of varying tasks simultaneously and work autonomously and/or in a cross functional team in a fast-paced business environment;

- Preferred Experience:
- Experience with regulations and contractual matters impacting medical device or similar industries such as anti-kickback statutes and clinical trial agreements;
- Experience with data privacy legal matters including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Law degree from an accredited university.
