Summary
Cal Land Engineering & Associates, Inc. is seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our firm located in Brea, CA area as an Associate Civil Project Engineer. He/she will work closely with other professionals in Cal Land Engineering & Associates. Candidates are not required to have professional licensure. However, applicants with a solid understanding of civil engineering and/or working experience in the field are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate takes pride in his/her hands-on work, analytical ability, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Essential Functions
· Experience with design site development including permitting, grading, drainage, street design, erosion control, hydrology, storm drainage, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection systems.
· Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
· Be able to evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering and architecture disciplines.
· Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design team.
· Make independent assessment of engineering problems and recommend solutions to engineering discipline leads, resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
· Assist the principal engineer with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
Required Skills & Behaviors
· Proficiency in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office
· Working or educational experience with Civil Engineering (2-3 years)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
· Good communication and writing skills
· Highly motivated and team oriented
· English Proficiency required
Recommended Education/Experience
· Proficiency with Civil 3D
· On track towards professional licensure
Organizational Relationships
· Reports directly to the Civil Project Manager
