General Summary:
The Associate, Bankruptcy is responsible for effective case management and resolution of complex issues as related to customer accounts impacted by a bankruptcy proceeding. This position may support any of the bankruptcy teams within the department (Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11 accounts) for retail and lease accounts nationwide via multiple channels. This position evaluates customer's intentions with respect to Hyundai Capital America collateral and development of strategies to resolve bankruptcy issues while protecting HCA's interest and minimizing loss to the company. This position will ensure all requests/tasks are processed within HCAs timeframes, adhere to HCA's policy and procedures, per stated workflows as well as being in compliance with all relevant state and federal laws. This position requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to a multi-functional departmental structure and job rotation. All positions within the Operations Division are expected to collaborate cross-divisionally to achieve a seamless customer experience; this includes supporting other departments as necessary to meet the business need.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible to manage a portfolio of bankruptcy accounts, while adhering to established policies, procedures and SLAs in the unit assigned.
2. Handle general incoming calls, perform follow up calls and respond to emails received.
3. Prepare, file, and release documents/correspondence as required ensuring accuracy per HCA's Policy and Procedures while being compliant with all State and Federal laws.
4. Actively participate in coaching and development sessions/trainings to enhance individual performance and overall department/team performance.
5. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Must be self-motivator and self-starter
Ability to multitask and follow workflow processes for assigned job duties
Must be able to successfully operate in a fast paced, team environment
Must adapt well to change and successfully adjust to changing priorities
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with general office equipment Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Minimum 1 year automotive finance experience (Desirable)
Experience with Bankruptcy related processing/laws
Auto Finance or related background is preferred
2 years of experience in fast paced office environment (Desirable)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Physical Requirements and Working Condition:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
