Our team of lawyers work on complex and cutting-edge legal issues, and frequently teach other lawyers the law in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars. We are also supported by a friendly and seasoned support staff, which includes law clerks and paralegals with prior experience working in the Virginia court system.
Background knowledge in the following topics is ideal: Virginia civil litigation, drafting civil complaints, demurrers, pleas in bar, interrogatories, document production and depositions. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Making appearances in court for civil return dates, and for arguing motions;
- Researching and drafting civil motions and preparing discovery, including demurrers, bills of particulars, interrogatories, document production and depositions;
- Research and draft memos on various topics related to real estate and business law;
- Assist with preparing for depositions and trial, including gathering trial exhibits and preparing direct and cross examination outlines;
- Assist attorneys with cases;
- Work with clients;
- Ability communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
??Qualifications:
- Judicial Clerkship or 1-year legal experience
- Must have VA Bar license
