MADISON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT #38 Position Title: Assistive Technology and Quality IEP TeacherLength of Work Yr: 9 monthsSalary Range: $51,510 - $66,886Placement based on education and experienceDepartment: Student ServicesReports To: Director of Student Services JOB GOAL:Provide support to students and staff in the area of Assistive Technology; guide and ensure the development of quality IEPs that serve as instructional tools and adhere to all legal requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Belief that all students can succeed and reach ambitious objectives Current Arizona State Certification in special education. 3+ years successful experience working with special education students Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skillsPrevious leadership experience, including school committees, coaching or mentoring experience Various grade level experience Skilled at working with others in a professional learning environment, including mentoring, coaching and modeling effective practices with teachersStrong organization and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Willing to accept constructive feedback and reflect on professional practice and implement changeUnderstanding of ADE compliance requirements as related to IEP developmentKnowledge of AT and how it may be used to meet student needs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as an expert on Assistive Technology (AT) and IEP content; trains and provides modeling for all educators and students in relation to AT and IEP compliance needs; provide resources and knowledge to educators on AT and effective IEP writing Conducts and or refers students for Assistive Technology evaluations ; conducts observations in order to aid in the development of providing Assistive Technology in order to access curriculum at the school environment; completes formal AT evaluations and provides informal consultationSupport all educators on how to effectively write IEPs that serve as instructional tools and adhere to all state/federal compliance requirements; supports progress monitoring and other IEP needsConducts quality checks on initial and annual IEPs; ensures district compliance with ADE's requirements for IEPs. Supports implementation of corrective findings from ADE MonitoringCoordinates and is a liaison to the Educational Services Department regarding Assistive Technology as it applies to materials and textbook adoptionsProvides low tech or visual support for students.Problem solves with educators on what Assistive Technology the student will need. Provides AAC support, including working with related service providersCompletes trailing for Assistive Technology devices and preps Assistive Technology materials for educators; programs/ backs up devices and technologyMaintains all software and subscriptions, including training for these programs; updates BookShare information and communication; ensures the district remains current with the most up to date Assistive Technology and softwarePrepares and maintains records and reports as required for compliance with various state, federal and administrativeKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrates knowledge of state and national standards, district curriculum and instructional materials and assessments.Demonstrates knowledge of interpreting data and assessments to make instructional decisions.Supports school and district mission and vision.Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates flexibility, dependability, organization, and collaboration.Establishes rapport with peers and parents.Is willing to participate in district training for coaching.Demonstrates lifelong learning.Seeks opportunities to demonstrate leadership.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents in English as well as the ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before all stakeholder groups. REPORTS TO:Director of Student Services TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Maintains valid certifications, fingerprint card and Appropriately Certified status.

Observes teacher calendar and all Madison School District policies. Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range.
