Job Title: Dietary Aide/Server

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.
To serve food and beverages to residents and guests.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
- Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
- Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:
- Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
- Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee, and operations data
- Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior
- Supports and participates in common teamwork:
- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regaining reported complaints, problems and concerns
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform, and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE.5.
- Cleans tables and sets them to be ready for use by residents and guests
- Greets guests and hand them menus
- Announce daily specials, answer questions about menu items, and take orders
- Write orders on tickets and give to kitchen staff to prepare food
- Picks up drinks and food when orders are ready and serves guests
- Observes customers to respond if they require additional service
- Prepares and delivers cheek
- Accepts signed check from resident and processes for payment
- Cleans table and prepares it for next guest
- Move tables and arrange dining room for special party's
- Cleans dining area after each meal
- Maintains a clean server station and work area throughout shift
- Re-stock assigned stations and cooler area during each shift
QUALIFICATIONS

- Polite, friendly manner to deal with customers
- Neat, clean appearance and willingness to follow rules for sanitary food service
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to provide prompt service
- Ability to keep track of orders and prepare checks
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training
LANGUAGE SKILL5.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sufficient strength to carry food trays. Good mobility to deliver food to guests. Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare bills.
