Assistant/Associate ProfessorOrganic Chemistry

DescriptionThe Department of Chemistry at Oklahoma State University invites applications for two tenure track faculty positions to begin in August 2024. One faculty position is a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry, and the other faculty position is a tenure track Assistant Professor in Inorganic Chemistry. Each candidate is expected to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs and develop and/or maintain a nationally recognized and externally funded research program. Qualifications Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry requires a doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field, and postdoctoral experience is desirable. Each candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized and externally funded research program in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry and teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs.  The research plan can range from a well-developed research proposal to a cohesive collection of research ideas. However, the plan should have sufficient detail to give confidence to the faculty that the candidate will be successful in developing a nationally recognized and externally funded research program and justify the expenditure of startup funds. Appointment at the Associate Professor rank in Organic Chemistry requires a strong record of publications with a demonstrated impact of the associated research contributions, as well as evidence of an ongoing nationally recognized and externally funded research program. The research plan should describe current and future directions they will use to maintain external funding. The candidate must also have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and have evidence of graduate student supervision. Candidates must also have a strong track record of university service and service to the broader chemical community.
