Job Description
With the ambitious goal of becoming a research-intensive R1 institution and a top 75 school, the University of Tulsa (TU) is investing and expanding in several strategic research areas. To support this growth initiative, the newly formed College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Tulsa will significantly increase its faculty in the next 5 years and seeks inspired, driven faculty to join us in this mission.
The University of Tulsa is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a population of over 1,000,000 in the metro area. With over $1.2 billion in endowment, The University of Tulsa is a private university with approximately 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering and Computer Science, Health Sciences, and Law. TU is one of the top 100 private U.S. research institutions and Oklahoma’s highest-ranked private university based on US News and World Report data. The College of Engineering and Computer Science has a global reputation in Energy and Cyber Security with long-standing scholarship for service programs supported by the NSF and the National Security Agency. TU also boasts a large-scale research facility that hosts numerous Industry/University partnerships and consortia for more than 50 years. The College is home to 52 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 18 teaching faculty and has six PhD programs, which produce excellent scientists and engineers for placement as professors and researchers at universities, industries across the nation and the world, and at national labs.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level with expertise in Sustainable Energy Transition topics such as Greenhouse gases capture, utilization, storage, and transportation, Storage of energetic vectors (hydrogen, natural gas, compressed air, battery, etc.) and their transportation, Management, and optimization of subsurface energy resources for heat and fluid extraction, and Alternative Energy Generation (Solar, wind, geothermal). The successful applicants will be required to teach, advise, and mentor graduate students; develop a strong independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in their engineering discipline. Candidates with relevant non-academic experience are encouraged to apply.
