General Responsibility:

As an Assistant Superintendent for a Commercial and Multi-Family construction company, your primary responsibility is to assist the Superintendent in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Significant Duties:

• Project Support:
• Assist the Superintendent in project planning and scheduling.
• Help in the development of construction strategies and execution plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project flow.
• Site Management:
• Oversee day-to-day on-site construction activities, ensuring they meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Superintendent.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety protocols.
• Quality Control:
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure that work is executed according to plans and specifications.
• Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
• Subcontractor Coordination:
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors to schedule their work efficiently.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during subcontractor work.
• Material and Equipment Management:
• Assist in the procurement and tracking of construction materials and equipment.
• Maintain inventory records and ensure availability when needed.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
• Assist in keeping project records and reports organized and up-to-date.
• Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify and address challenges or obstacles that may affect project progress.
• Work with the Superintendent to develop solutions to complex issues.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in commercial and multi-family construction as a construction manager, field engineer, or similar role.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
