Assistant Site Manager

Stein, LLC in partnership with TMS International, LLC is a leading provider of outsourced steel services, including raw materials purchasing, scrap management, scrap optimization, slag processing and metal recovery services to integrated steel mills, mini-mills and foundries. We have operations at over 70 plants throughout the U.S., Canada, Central & South America, Europe and Asia.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Site Manger to join our 45 person team located in Decatur, AL. This position will report directly to the Site Manager and will require to be on-site daily.

Assistant Site Manager Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Site Manager to supervise the staff at the site including safety, maintenance and operations employees
• Assists in coordinating the Safety/ISO Program
• Assists with purchasing, maintenance administration, financial forecasting and other administrative tasks
• Ensures site compliance to Company maintenance and safety programs
• Responsible for the site operation when the Site Manager is not available

Assistant Site Manager Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Construction Mgmt. or related field required (suitable experience may replace degree requirement)
• At least 3 years’ prior supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operations including loaders and excavators helpful.
• Experience administering a formal safety and maintenance program preferred
• Prior experience working with a maintenance department is desirable
• Must be computer literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office package including Excel spreadsheets.
